Configure Mac Mail
First click on mail and select preferences as shown in the image below.
 
Click on accounts the click on account information.
In the Email address box enter your FULL megatron email address.
In the Full Name box enter your name.
In the incoming mail server box enter pop.gmail.com
In the User name box enter your FULL megatron email address.
In the password box enter your email password.
Click on the Server Settings Button.
 
In the outgoing mail server box enter smtp.gmail.com
Check the user secure sockets layer (SSL) box.
In the Server port box enter 465
Click the double arrows for the drop down list at authentication and select Password
In the User Name box enter your FULL megatron Email Address.
In the password box enter your email password.
Click the OK button.
 
Click on the advanced tab.
Check the box for Use SSL
Select Password from the drop down list on Authentication.

Close the window with the red X on the upper left. You will be prompted to save changes. Say yes.

 
 
That's it. You can now use Mac Mail instead of webmail to check your email. If it does not work, recheck the settings to make sure you did not mistype anything.
 
Keep in mind that this does not retrieve the spam folder. The webmail system will still filter the spam. You will still need to use the webmail to check the contents of that folder.

If you do not want it to filter your account for spam, you will need to create a filter in the webmail system that will let the spam through. Instruction on how to do that are here.
